Meeting called to order: 7:00 pm
Mayor’s Neighborhood Forum: Katy & Gordon attended the Mayor’s Neighborhood Presidents Forum was held on Saturday 7/21/12 from 8:30 am to noon.
- The park maintenance pilot project utilizing private contractors is only applying to 17 neighborhoods.
- The blue recycling bins are being rolled out across the City and will be completed by the end of 2013. Brown containers for yard waste will be on a request only.
- Katy talked to Mike Riordan, Capital Improvement Project Director about the $250,000 of funding for the side streets that was reclaimed by the State because ABQ had not acted on the project. He said he would try to get the money back.
National Night Out: SHNA held a small get together at Rich Braziel’s house at 1900 Silver.
Lead/Coal Bike Danger: Cars are parking in the bike lanes. This creates a danger to bikers. A request has been made to install signs and enforce the no parking requirements.
Treasure’s Report: Elizabeth presented the Treasure’s Report. Attachment 2
Zoning: 1502 Silver: Gordon & Bill met with the City and discovered that a Building Permit has been issued and the City doesn’t know what it is for. The Zoning dept will inspect the property.
Ike Benton: Ike Benton’s office is offering to pay for the repair of the Yale Corridor watering system. We will need to speak with Baker Morrow when the Parks Department gets back to Benton with a cost estimate. We want to get the best value for this expenditure especially considering this money will not be used for maintenance.
Pictures: We have the pictures of 3 houses that Matt will put on the website. Maria will be asked to write the introduction telling why SHNA has taken these pictures. Maria, Katy/Elizabeth, & Matt will develop captions for the pictures of their houses.
University Landscaping Project: We were told that the University Landscaping would start soon after the Lead/Coal Project was finished. They will start in the middle of September.
Lead/Coal Construction: The final clean is still not completed. Craig & Gordon will request a walk thru and point out what is not finished.
Board Meeting Minutes Approval: The July Board Meeting minutes were approved unanimously.
