Park Volunteer Report: Elizabeth reported that Park Volunteer Katy Braziel called the Mayor’s liaison 2x in the last month to ask for attention to Silver medians and parkways. With no call-backs from the Parks department to her 311 requests, she resorted to the Mayor’s office. Watering is sporadic from block to block; the 1800 and 1900 (north side) parkways have large dead spots and need re-seeding/re-sodding; the bubbler caps around the trees need to be replaced due to damage by mowers; tree identification tags damaged by mowers need replacing; and weed & feed product needs to be put down to avoid further devastation of the landscape by weeds. On Silver 3 trees are in danger of dying. Katy also reported to 311 that 12 trees on Yale Blvd are dying or dead. All neighbors are urged to call 311 and report on current landscape conditions on Silver, Gold, and Yale.
Reforestation Experience: Rhett Zyla is considering moving into this area and asked how we got the reforestation done. A brief history of the reforestation was lead by Elizabeth and other points of contact were provided.
