Meeting called to order: 7:20pm
Approval of Minutes: The February 9, 2015 Annual Board Meeting minutes were approved unanimously.
Police Commander Wisonet Meeting: Katy & Jim met with Commander Wisonet and discussed issues and concerns. The Commander explained that Albuquerque has less than 900 officers with 96 assigned to the SE. Most of the 96 officers are focused in the La Mesa-Trumbell neighborhood which is the most crime intense. DOJ may mandate more officers but that is not an immediate solution. As it stands right now we will be losing the bike cops. To everyone is encouraged call their City Councilor, Ike Benton (West of Buena Vista) and Ray Garduno (East of Buena Vista.) Also call the Mayor. Silver Hill Neighborhood issues that were discussed are:
- 2101 Silver Party House –They are having loud and large parties and are charging $3.00 entrance fees. Under age drinking is occurring and they do not have a valid permit. Benjamin Soloman is the renter and Alana has the name and contact information of the owner. Alana called them and they were not aware of the activity. Alana will write up the details for Jim to write a letter. Elizabeth was walking by and counted 34 people milling around and going in and out of the house.
- Problem with prostitution & drug dealing on Gold and the alley between Central and Gold from Yale to Sycamore.
- Roosevelt Park – Constant drug dealing
- Frontier has hired a private security company
- There will be an officer attending the May SHNA Board meeting and everyone is encouraged to attend
Great American Cleanup: We are going to do Lead & Coal on April 25th this year since we have done gold for the last many years. Supplies will be at Katy’s house 1606 Silver and coffee will be provided. Everybody should try to recruit some one to help
Green Waste Pickup: The City will be picking up green waste 5/6 & 5/13. Waste must be bagged or branches cut to 4’ or less and bound.
Solar Work Shop: Rich Braziel and Jeremy Sment will report at next months meeting on a possible Solar Workshop that could be sponsored by SHNA
Historic Tax Credit: Katy Braziel & Caite Caperton will report at next months meeting on a possible Historic Tax Credit Workshop that could be sponsored by SHNA
NM Towing Truck: The truck is being parked at 1413 lead in the evenings and is waking Laura up when he responds to calls. Laura Eisner will call Jim to see what can be done.
2012 Lead:Craig Wallace has a Special Exception sign posted for his Solar Car Port and will be seeking final approval
Coal Trees: Four of the new trees in the 2100 Block of Coal have been knocked over and destroyed. Katy has reported this. We need someone to be a park Volunteer for Lead, Coal, & Gold. Jeremy will take responsibility to call for Roosevelt Park, Coal & Lead. Elizabeth will be responsible for Gold
