Board Minutes: The SHNA Board Minutes from 3/14/11, which were posted on the SHNA website and reviewed by board members, were approved.Treasurer’s report: Elizabeth presented the Treasurer’s Report which was approved.
Amendment of By-Laws: Gordon reported that the SHNA by-laws have been approved by the City as submitted. Gordon has posted them on the Web site.
Walking Tour: Elizabeth met with Janet Sayers, Albuquerque Historical Society Director, about a Silver Hill Neighborhood walking tour on Sunday 5/29/11 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Memorial Day Weekend). Elizabeth contacted Presbyterian and people will be allowed to use their parking facilities. Janet will contact the Journal who has agreed to provide advertisement. This is a walking tour of the outdoor spaces. No access to the inside of the dwellings will be allowed.
Keep America Beautiful: Matt Sexton submitted a grant for 5 new trash cans and10 trash pick-up tools.
Permit Parking: There have been problems with non-resident parking on Silver between Sycamore and Ash. This is the only block of Silver Avenue between Yale and Presbyterian Hospital that does not have permit parking. Gordon spoke to Ike Benton and was referred to Bill Westmoreland from traffic engineering. Bill will have this reviewed but said it seemed reasonable.
SHNA Website: Matt Sexton has created a trash can page that shows where the trash cans are located and identifies who is responsible for maintaining them. Maria has money to start the photography work.
Our Presbyterian Donation: Gordon Reiselt and Katy Braziel met with Jim Jeppson from Presbyterian and were told that the money was given in equal amounts to Spruce Park Neighborhood Association, Sycamore Neighborhood Association and Silver Hill Neighborhood Association. Jim is the person who signed the check. Gordon will write an email to Jim telling him about the projects SHNA has in mind for our share of the money and ask him to confirm in an email reply that we are entitled to our share and that our projects are acceptable. Gordon has a copy of the check and paperwork. Gordon saw a copy of the cancelled check for $7,800. According to Spruce Park Neighborhood Association the money is in a Certificate of Deposit earning interest.
Front Yard Parking: Katy Braziel & Gordon Reiselt met with the parking enforcement department and shared the Friendly Letter the SHNA has prepared to remind residents that it is illegal to park in the front yard. The Parking Enforcement department said they could issue citations based on a picture if the person who took the picture was willing to testify in court.
